Iceland has been formed by geologic eruptions. It is located Northwest of Europe and interestingly enough even if most of Iceland's mountains and the lands are snow-covered, it is considered a geological hotspot since it is located at the Mid-Atlantic ridge thus making the island volcanically active and also producing geysers and hot springs .
